From August 24 to 31, 2025, N.I. Lobachevsky Nizhny Novgorod State University will host intensive training camps in agrogenetics for high school students of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, with the support of the regional government.
Participants in the program — 9th- and 10th-grade students from Nizhny Novgorod Oblast — will gain hands-on laboratory experience while becoming familiar with various aspects of the agro-industrial complex. These sessions are aimed at stimulating students' interest in the agricultural sector and forming a personnel reserve for the agro-industrial complex.
During the camps, students will master laboratory research methods that will be useful for participating in Olympiads and project work. Participants will learn to extract DNA from various samples, perform PCR, and assess enzyme activity. In addition, they will learn to work with bioinformatics software and databases and will propose solutions to case studies related to real problems facing the modern agro-industrial complex.
The program is designed to involve high school students in current research tasks in agrogenetics, breeding, biotechnology, and related disciplines, as well as to increase interest in specialties in demand in the fields of agricultural sciences and life sciences.
The scientific sessions are organized by the autonomous non-profit organization CRO "Integration" with the participation of the regional center "VEGA."
