Russian Flag Day was celebrated at Nizhny Novgorod's Victory Park.

      An All-Russian patriotic event, “#RUSSIA,” timed to coincide with the celebration of the Day of the State Flag of the Russian Federation, took place on August 21 in Victory Park in Nizhny Novgorod.

      The key moment of the event was a flash mob in which more than 500 representatives of youth and patriotic associations took part. Participants formed a single composition, holding cards in the colors of the Russian tricolor. On command they flipped them synchronously, and the flag transformed into images of national heroes — Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky.

      The event was organized by the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the Volunteers of Victory movement and the Avangard military-patriotic center with the support of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      Volunteers, participants of the special military operation, representatives of the Movement of the First, employees of the Federal Bailiff Service, members of the Volunteer NN search-and-rescue detachment, pupils of the Maxim Nastin Center for Patriotic Education, cultural volunteers, veterans and participants of regional leadership programs, including the project “Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region,” took part in the event.

      Among the honored guests were Acting Minister of Personnel Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Yelena Amosova, Chairman of the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod Evgeny Chintsov, head of the regional branch of the Movement of the First Vyacheslav Amosov, and director of the Avangard center Alexander Ineshin.

      Addressing the participants of the event, Evgeny Chintsov emphasized the significance of the flag as a symbol of strength and unity:

      “During the special military operation I saw how soldiers from different regions and confessions raised the Russian flag over liberated territories. It gave confidence and inspired. The enemy, seeing our flag, understands: before him stands a force that cannot be broken. The flag is a symbol of our resilience and victory.”

      As part of the celebration, a solemn raising of the state flag took place. Heroes of the special military operation participated in it — Major Alexander Molgachev, awarded two Orders of Courage, and Lieutenant Alexander Kuritsyn, holder of the Suvorov Medal. Together with them, representatives of the Volunteers of Victory raised the flag.

      Maria Samodelkina, head of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the Volunteers of Victory movement, noted:

      “Today’s event is not just a colorful spectacle. It is a living symbol of our memory, respect and pride for the country. The Russian flag is the history of great victories. It went into battle with us, conquered the elements and was raised on sporting podiums. We must be worthy of our ancestors. Congratulations to everyone on the holiday!”

      In addition to the flash mob, patriotic master classes were organized for guests with the support of the League of Youth Self-Government. Participants could write a “Letter to a Soldier,” learn how to make a dry shower for the front, paint traditional clay whistles and take part in other themed activities.

      The celebration concluded with a performance by the Nizhny Novgorod Governorate Orchestra.
