      Incidents

      After the death of a Master of Sport of Russia in automobile racing and a volunteer of the search and rescue center "Rys", Dmitry Ruzhyev, in a traffic accident on Steklozavodskoye Highway in Bor, a criminal case has been opened. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.

      The accident occurred on 14 August at around 13:05 near building No. 4a — a Hyundai Tucson, driven by a 71-year-old local resident, and a Honda motorcycle, ridden by 36-year-old Dmitry Ruzhyev, collided. He sustained severe injuries and died at the scene. The car driver was hospitalized and is receiving treatment as an inpatient.

      A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — "Violation of traffic rules and vehicle operation resulting in death by negligence."

      Investigators and the State Traffic Inspectorate continue to establish all the circumstances of the incident.

      It was previously reported that on the night of 22 August in Nizhny Novgorod a fatal road traffic accident involving a motorcyclist occurred.
