Nizhny Novgorod Region became a laureate in four categories of the all-Russian competition "City in Details: Living Heritage." The awards ceremony took place in Kazan as part of the All-Russian Forum of Small Towns and Historic Settlements. This was reported by the press service of the regional government.

The competition is held as part of the federal project "Creating a Comfortable Urban Environment," which is part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life." Its goal is to identify and preserve unique urban objects that emphasize the historical character of settlements and promote generational continuity.

First place in the "Park Stories" category was awarded to the Palace of Culture of the town of Zavolzhye. It won for the project "New Horizons of the Old 'Baikonur'," in which an outdated space-themed children's playground was reimagined and turned into an art object. This playground had for 30 years remained one of the city's unofficial symbols.

Third place in the "Best Atypical Small Architectural Form (MAF)" category went to the art object "Big and Small Ear," installed in the Mokhovye Gory park in the Bor urban district. It allows visitors to listen to the sounds of nature and became an original element of the urban environment.

A special award for promoting the competition was given to the government of Nizhny Novgorod Region and the administration of Nizhny Novgorod.

Another achievement for the region was the recognition of the project to revitalize the central square at the Holy Gates in Diveyevo. It became a laureate of the Light Environment Development Fund award in the category "For the Quality of the Light Environment in a Beautification Project."

Deputy Chairman of the Government of Nizhny Novgorod Region Vyacheslav Gorev noted that when developing improvement projects, regardless of their scale, the main task remains preserving the uniqueness of the place and its historical identity. He emphasized that all three highlighted projects are aimed at the development of the region's small towns.

The Forum of Small Towns and Historic Settlements is a key federal platform on issues of sustainable development, improvement and the creation of a comfortable urban environment. Since 2018 it has brought together representatives of authorities, business, the architectural community and experts, providing an opportunity to exchange experience and showcase successful practices.

Recall that since 2025 the national project "Infrastructure for Life," initiated by President Vladimir Putin, has been implemented in Russia. It includes 11 federal directions covering key areas: from the modernization of utility systems to the development of transport infrastructure and the urban environment.
