Society. The Museum of the History of the Vyksa Metallurgical Plant (VMP) has received modern equipment designed to make its space more accessible and comfortable for all categories of visitors, including people with disabilities.

The upgrade is part of a project to develop the Resource Center for Sociocultural Inclusion. The initiative was supported by the charitable foundation "OMK-Uchastie" and the Presidential Grants Fund.

Among the acquired equipment are a printer for printing tactile graphics, tablets with video guides in Russian Sign Language and audio guides with audio descriptions for the visually impaired, a portable induction FM system, evacuation chairs, as well as mobile and attachable ramps.

The Swell Form printer allows the creation of raised images and texts that can be reused multiple times. A special technology that heats the ink on special paper makes the information accessible to blind visitors.

The "Istok A5" induction system is intended for people with hearing impairments. It converts the sound signal into an electromagnetic one that is picked up by hearing aids or cochlear implants. This helps eliminate background noise and make speech clearer.

The tablets with video guides and audio descriptions are especially useful for visitors with low vision and hearing impairments. They provide access to information both in the permanent exhibition and in temporary exhibitions.

To ensure the safety and convenience of visitors with limited mobility, evacuation chairs and ramps that can be easily moved to the required location have been installed.

According to Karina Krokhina, head of the Resource Center for Sociocultural Inclusion, the new equipment is already in active use. For example, the printer is used to create tactile images for the exhibition "Portraits, People, Persons," organized jointly with the Dobry Museum of the Tretyakov Gallery.

"Now anyone who wishes can study by touch the portraits from the Tretyakov collection, as well as images of the founders of the Vyksa factories. We regularly host tourist groups from different regions, and we see that the new adaptation measures are truly in demand. This makes our museum even more open and accessible," emphasized Karina Krokhina.
