Members of the State Duma have sent an appeal to the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Andrey Nikitin, asking him to consider the possibility of making parking near schools free on Knowledge Day, September 1. This was reported by the TV channel "360".
The deputies pointed to existing inequality in the rules for granting free parking on weekends and public holidays in different regions of the country. They noted that this causes dissatisfaction and a sense of injustice among citizens. In addition, paid parking often proves expensive for most families, which can become an additional financial burden.
The authors of the initiative believe that implementing this proposal would be an important step in supporting families with children and strengthening family values in society. They are confident that free parking on Knowledge Day will help parents save time and money that they could spend on other needs.
