Testing of the new NEFAZ-5299 bus has begun in Nizhny Novgorod.

      The company "Nizhegorodpassazhiravtotrans" has begun trials of a new bus model, the NEFAZ-5299. This was reported by the regional "Center for the Development of Transport Systems."

      The test operation is being carried out to assess the reliability of the equipment and determine the costs of its maintenance.

      Based on the results of the trials, which will take place on the roads of Nizhny Novgorod, a decision will be made on the possible purchase of this model. The buses are planned to be used to replace the old rolling stock that was decommissioned due to exceeding the permissible service life.

      The NEFAZ-5299 belongs to the large-class category of buses and is manufactured at the Neftekamsk Automobile Plant in the Republic of Tatarstan. Testing will continue until the end of the current year.

      Note that in 2023, 15 new NEFAZ-5299-40-52 buses were added to the fleet of the municipal unitary enterprise "Vyksunskoye PAP."

      It was also reported that the trial operation of the new-generation "Sinara" trolleybus in Nizhny Novgorod has been extended until August 31.
