Society — The first batch of influenza vaccine intended for the 2025/2026 vaccination campaign has arrived at medical institutions in the Nizhny Novgorod region, Alexey Nikonov, editor-in-chief of the medical outlet "Stacionar Press", wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the regional health ministry purchased the "FluM" and "Sovigripp" vaccines. Starting Thursday, residents will be able to get vaccinated at a number of polyclinics. In August the procedure will be available without prior appointment and without waiting in queues.
Vaccine supplies will be delivered in stages — additional shipments are expected. An increase in respiratory virus cases is expected as early as the second or third week of September. One of the factors contributing to the rise in cases will be children returning to schools and kindergartens.
Earlier it was reported that measles, rubella and whooping cough have returned to Russia on a large scale because of anti-vaxxers.
