SocietyIn two soil samples from the Nizhny Novgorod Region an excess of the permissible level of zinc was detected. This was reported by FSBI "VNIIZh".

According to specialists, excessive zinc content in soil can pose a serious danger to the health of humans, animals and plants. Although zinc is an essential micronutrient, its excess can disrupt natural processes, worsen the quality of agricultural products and damage ecosystems.

To prevent such situations, specialists recommend regularly monitoring soil conditions, controlling the use of fertilizers and industrial wastes containing zinc, and applying methods to restore contaminated areas, including bioremediation and agronomic measures.

Information about the detected violations has been entered into the automated system "VESTA" and sent to the Rosselkhoznadzor directorate for the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Republic of Mari El. The supervisory authority must take response measures in accordance with current legislation.

Earlier it was reported that almost half of the soil samples in the Nizhny Novgorod Region showed excessive microbial content. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
