Mobile internet service disruptions may occur in Nizhny Novgorod on City Day.

      Residents of Nizhny Novgorod were warned about possible disruptions to mobile phone service and the Internet on 16 August. This was reported by the press service of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      According to the authorities, the restrictions may affect districts where festive events dedicated to City Day will take place.

      The government explained that the deterioration in the quality of communications is related to enhanced security measures planned to be introduced at places of mass gatherings.

      In the event of disruptions, Nizhny Novgorod residents can use a map of locations with free Wi‑Fi access in the mobile app "Nizhny Novgorod Region Resident Map."

      Recall that the theme of this year’s celebration is "Heroes Among Us." As part of the festivities, special attention will be paid to participants of the special military operation and to veterans. The central events (6+) will take place on 16 August at Minin and Pozharsky Square.

      Performances (6+) will be held for Nizhny Novgorod residents in different parts of the city by the groups Uma2rman, Mirage, Reflex, Iowa, the duo Filatov & Karas, Stas Piekha and Yulianna Karaulova.

      On the day of the celebration, 16 August, the sale of alcohol will be prohibited in Nizhny Novgorod. Traffic restrictions will also be introduced in several districts, including the city center. Changes will also affect public transport routes.

      By the way, a fireworks display is not planned for City Day.
