Yevgeny Chintsov held an official meeting with a delegation from the city of Bender (Transnistria).

      On August 13, 2025, the Chairman of the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod, Evgeny Chintsov, held an official meeting with the Head of the State Administration of the city of Bender, Roman Ivanchenko, and the Chairman of the Bender City Council of People’s Deputies, Yuri Kara. The visit of the Bender delegation (Transnistria) was timed to coincide with the celebration of the 804th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod.

      Also taking part in the event were Deputy Chairman of the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod Vladimir Tarasov; chairmen of the Duma’s permanent commissions Inna Vankina, Herman Karachevsky, Stanislav Prokopovich, Sergey Plyaskin, Mark Feldman; head of the Duma apparatus Elena Andronova; Chairman of the Youth Chamber Alexey Filimonov; and a consultant from the Foreign Relations Department of the Department of Tourism Development and External Relations of the Administration of Nizhny Novgorod, Elena Kasandina.

      During the meeting, the representatives of the city of Bender were presented with the current activities of the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod and the Youth Chamber attached to the representative body, as well as the city’s key socio-economic development projects.

      “Of course, my colleagues and I are very interested to learn what your city lives by today, what priorities you have set in its development. I know that in 2012 Bender received the status of a City of Military Glory. Nizhny Novgorod has held the title of City of Labour Valor for five years, which it was awarded for the contribution of its residents to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The patriotic agenda for our country and city in connection with the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, which we are marking in the year declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, is of great importance to us, and we have things to discuss here,” Evgeny Chintsov said.

      Yuri Kara noted that Nizhny Novgorod is a very friendly city with its own unique history and congratulated everyone present on the upcoming city birthday.

      “We became acquainted with Nizhny Novgorod several years ago and can see how it has changed, grown, become even more interesting and beautiful. Of course, it is not comparable to our city in terms of the level of implemented practices. I believe this visit will be useful for us in terms of gaining new experience. And since the tasks we solve are common and the end result of our work is aimed at improving citizens’ well-being, perhaps some of what we do may also be adopted by Nizhny Novgorod residents. I wish all residents of Nizhny Novgorod happiness, a peaceful sky above their heads, warmth and prosperity in every home!” Yuri Kara said.

      Roman Ivanchenko, in turn, also shared his impressions of the meeting with the Volga capital.

      “On the eve of a birthday many sum up results, and for us, outsiders, it is clear that the city not only lives but develops. It has a wonderful past, dynamism and modernity, and no less remarkable prospects. We managed to visit the neighborhood center and the dairy kitchen, as well as a number of other enterprises, and we see how much their leaders live their work. That is invaluable! If you were able to achieve such results in 8–9 years, I can imagine what you can accomplish at that pace and with that team over a longer period. I wish your city further development and prosperity!” the guest said.
