In Nizhny Novgorod, the former general director of a heating company, accused of exceeding his official powers, will stand trial.

      The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region have completed the investigation of a criminal case against the former general director of JSC “Teploenergo,” who is accused of committing three episodes of a crime under paragraph “e” of part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (exceeding official powers committed for mercenary or other personal interest). According to the investigation, the accused, in the period from 2023 to 2024, with the aim of creating the appearance of his effective performance as a leader and retaining his position with a high salary, instructed the general director of a subsidiary to conclude a contract for work to amend the original design-and-estimate documentation for the reconstruction of a facility, which resulted in damage to the state in the amount of more than 8.9 million rubles, as well as an increase in the project implementation cost by more than 180 million rubles. In addition, in 2023 the accused, wishing to conceal shortcomings in his official activities, created an advantage for an organization affiliated with him when participating in procurements for the needs of the company and unjustifiably concluded a number of supplementary agreements, which led to an overstatement of the project implementation cost. Continuing his unlawful activities, the former general director of the organization illegally and unjustifiably increased the official salary of the general director of the subsidiary, thereby significantly violating the rights and lawful interests of JSC “Teploenergo,” causing it property damage in the amount of more than 400 thousand rubles. The illegal actions of the man were identified and suppressed by investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia together with operational officers of the FSB Directorate for the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The court has ordered his detention. The investigation has collected a sufficient evidentiary base, and therefore the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court for consideration on the merits.
