Politics On August 14 in the town of Mosty, at the plenary session of the IV Congress of Small Towns of the Grodno Region of the Republic of Belarus and the Nizhny Novgorod Region of the Russian Federation, an Agreement on Cooperation was signed between the Association of Youth Parliaments of the Grodno Region and the Association of Youth Parliaments of the Volga Federal District, as well as a "roadmap for cooperation." Taking part in the Congress events are the head of the Nizhny Novgorod delegation, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Evgeny Lyulin, and deputies of the regional parliament Igor Norenkov, Vladimir Bespalov, Vladimir Pakov, Maxim Rebrov, Solomon Apoyan, and Alexey Stepanov.
The document was signed by Egor Giz, Chairman of the Association of Youth Parliaments of the Grodno Region, and Vladimir Moskalenko, coordinator of the Association of Youth Parliaments of the Volga Federal District.
The agreement is aimed at developing youth parliamentarism, legal education and exchange of experience, civic-patriotic education, and the preservation of historical memory. It is planned to develop joint projects in the fields of education, IT, tourism, and volunteering, to hold joint events and to exchange information.
Evgeny Lyulin, coordinator of the Council of Legislators of the Volga Federal District and Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, expressed confidence that the signing of the agreement will open up new opportunities for young parliamentarians and will make it possible to implement many important joint projects.
"The Association of Youth Parliaments of the Volga Federal District actively works with Belarusian young parliamentarians. Within the framework of the Forum of Regions we began digitizing monuments to Komsomol members who fought in the years of the Great Patriotic War. We plan to digitize all the monuments located in the Volga Federal District. For a long time Evgeny Borisovich Lyulin was the First Secretary of the Komsomol of the Gorky Region. He was among those who erected these monuments, and we are now digitizing them. We also actively work with the Alexey Talai Charitable Foundation, which is implementing a project to create people's monuments called 'Living Memory of Grateful Generations.' As part of the campaign, an individual or a family can donate a coin as a sign of gratitude to the generation of Victors. The presidents of our countries, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, took part in it. Monuments made from coins donated by residents of our Union State have already been installed in Minsk and at the Brest Fortress. Such a monument will soon appear on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow. In the Volga Federal District special attention is paid to the upkeep of military graves. Young parliamentarians, together with the Premier League football club Pari Nizhny Novgorod, clean the cemeteries of our veterans. And this is only part of our work. The Association of Youth Parliaments of the Volga Federal District has many projects — more than 150 — and plans to scale them up together with our Belarusian colleagues," said Vladimir Moskalenko.
