      VTB expands its fraud alert system both during phone calls and when installing malicious apps. Now users will receive SMS and push notifications if they log into VTB Online while receiving a call from fraudsters. In the message the bank will warn that there may be a scammer on the line and recommend hanging up. The new measure will help users recognize the threat and protect their funds.

      The protection system will help detect remote access programs on smartphones that can disguise themselves as official apps of banks, telecom operators and delivery services. These programs are used by fraudsters to obtain access codes for online banking and steal clients' funds. In such cases the bank recommends checking all apps installed in the past few days.

      VTB is actively implementing various technological tools to protect against phone scammers. If a transaction is suspected to be fraudulent, clients can confirm the transaction via NFC (by tapping their bank card to the smartphone) or using biometrics. Earlier the bank launched a service to check the devices on which online banking is open and added a function to immediately reset sessions. These and other tools are available in the "Security" section of the VTB Online app.
