Deputy Minister of Health of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Galina Karpova is leaving her post due to taking a new job. This was reported on his Telegram channel by Aleksey Nikonov, editor-in-chief of "Stacionar-press."
According to Nikonov, Karpova's departure has been confirmed by several sources, but there is no official statement from the authorities or details about her new appointment at the moment. During her tenure as deputy minister, Galina Karpova oversaw important areas: the childhood and maternity services, as well as the digitization process in healthcare.
During her leadership of these areas, the Nizhny Novgorod Region achieved a reduction in the infant mortality rate. It currently stands at 3.5 cases per 1,000 newborns, which is below the federal control benchmark for the Russian Federation. An 18% decrease in neonatal mortality and a halving (50%) of late neonatal mortality have also been noted. As of 2024, child mortality from infectious diseases has decreased fourfold.
The region's successes in healthcare under Karpova's leadership received federal recognition: last year the Nizhny Novgorod Region team was recognized as the best in implementing the national project at a board meeting of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
"We will hear about Galina Karpova's new appointment yet," noted Aleksey Nikonov. "The Nizhny Novgorod Region has more than once been a 'supplier' of top managerial personnel."
