Pari NN captain Mamadou Maiga may be suspended for three matches.

      The Sports Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU CDC) will consider the episode involving the sending-off of Pari NN midfielder Mamadou Maiga at its next meeting. This was reported by committee head Artur Grigoryants in an interview with RIA Novosti.

      Recall that the incident occurred in the 4th round RPL match on August 10, in which Pari NN lost away to Rostov 0:1. As early as the 11th minute of the match Maiga received a straight red card after intervention by the officials responsible for the video assistant referee (VAR) system.

      According to the protocol, the player was sent off for a "serious violation of the rules of the game."

      Grigoryants noted that the player has been invited to the meeting, which will take place on August 14.

      Under the RFU's disciplinary regulations, such an offense could result in a suspension of up to three matches.

      Earlier it was reported that the 30-year-old Malian footballer became the Nizhny Novgorod side's captain only this season after Kirill Gotsuk left the team.
