In Nizhny Novgorod on August 9, a large-scale sporting march (0+) will take place as part of the All-Russian campaign dedicated to Physical Culture Day.

The city will be one of the venues celebrating the event, alongside Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, Makhachkala, Novosibirsk, and Vladivostok.

The initiative is led by the All-Russian Public Movement "Healthy Homeland" with the support of the Russian Ministry of Sports and VDNH.

The goal of the campaign is to promote a healthy lifestyle and revive the tradition of mass athletic parades, culminating in a large-scale march on Red Square in 2026.

The main event will start at 1:00 PM at VDNH on Siberian Passage and will end at Pavilion No. 57 of the "Russia — My History" historical park. Entry is free for all participants.

It is expected that around three thousand people will take part, including renowned athletes, sports veterans, educators, representatives of sports organizations, employees of large enterprises, pensioners, SVO participants, and GTO badge holders.

Honored guests of the march will be Olympic champions: Alexandra Patskevich (synchronized swimming), Oleg Saitov (boxing), Yury Postrigay (rowing), Alexander Legkov (cross-country skiing), and Yana Egoryan (fencing).

Earlier, it was reported that in 2025, the theme for the city celebration (0+) in Nizhny Novgorod will be the concept "Heroes Among Us."
