Heavy rain is expected!

      According to the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Upper Volga Hydrometeorological Service," in the next 1-3 hours on August 7, 2025, heavy rains are expected in parts of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the city of Nizhny Novgorod, with conditions persisting throughout August 8. The likelihood of emergencies arising increases due to localized flooding caused by malfunctions (clogging) of stormwater runoff and drainage systems, flooding of low-lying areas, roads, low-span bridges, power line supports, communication lines, agricultural lands, increased traffic accidents, transportation disruptions, housing and utility system failures, landslides, and slope washouts.

      Public Recommendations:

      While driving personal vehicles, reduce speed as visibility deteriorates, shoulders and dirt roads soften and wash away, and road slipperiness increases, leading to skidding and slipping.
