      Starting September 1, 2025, Russia will implement an updated list of medical restrictions for drivers. This decision was approved by the government in April 2025, reports the "360" television channel.

      In particular, the list of mental health conditions has been expanded to include general developmental disorders such as autism, Rett syndrome, and Asperger's syndrome.

      The list of eye conditions has been clarified: achromatopsia (H53.51) was replaced with color vision deficiencies (H53.5).

      Additionally, restrictions on driving have been introduced for certain medical conditions. For example, individuals with hand or foot deformities, thigh or shin amputations, or residual effects of central nervous system damage, such as hemiplegia, are affected.

      These changes were made in accordance with the revised edition of the International Classification of Diseases.

      Previously, lawyer Turgunboy Zokirov warned that drivers with depression could face license revocation. However, according to him, the ban does not apply to all forms of depression. Only "depressive episodes" and "recurrent depressive disorder" are considered contraindications, not merely "depressive behavioral disorder."

      Medical indications that may prevent a person from driving are identified by a medical commission. It must be passed before obtaining a driver's license and then every 10 years. Additionally, unscheduled checks may be scheduled, for example, after license revocation for drunk driving.
