Nizhny Novgorod cable car set a record for the number of passengers

      In July, the cable car connecting Nizhny Novgorod and Bork transported a record number of people — 356,713 passengers. This is 41% more than in the same month in 2024, when about 252,000 people used it.

      AO "Nizhny Novgorod Cable Cars" noted that this growth is explained by the modernization carried out in spring. At that time, the cable cars were upgraded with new cabins. Moreover, their number doubled, and capacity increased.

      Now, up to 1,000 people can ride the cable car per hour, and the waiting time in line has noticeably decreased. This immediately affected the passenger flow: over 265,000 people used the service in May, and more than 281,000 in June.

      From May to July, the cable car transported more than 900,000 people, almost 240,000 more than during the same period last year.

      The cable car remains not only a convenient way to travel between Nizhny Novgorod and Bork (only 12 minutes), but also a popular tourist route. For comparison, driving through the Borsky Bridge during rush hour can take up to 40 minutes.

      It was previously reported that a Telegram bot for cable car passengers was launched in Nizhny Novgorod.
