In Nizhny Novgorod, the court handed down a verdict in a criminal case of hooliganism at the Myza railway station.
The Oktyabrsky District Court of Nizhny Novgorod has sentenced two residents of the Moscow Region in a criminal case. They were found guilty under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism). The court established that in December 2024, two young men at the Myza railway station, demonstrating disrespect for society, used aerosol paint cans to intentionally draw graphic images on the surfaces of two passenger train cars. Transport security officers attempted to detain them. However, the young men sprayed pepper gas into the faces of railway workers and fled the scene. They were later identified and detained by officers of the transport police. The damage caused to the Volga-Vyatka suburban passenger company through property damage, amounting to over 100,000 rubles, was reimbursed by the defendants. Taking into account the position of the prosecutor from the Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office, the court found the defendants guilty and sentenced each to 1 year and 10 months of suspended imprisonment.
