In the Dalnekonstantinovsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, an 80-year-old local resident died as a result of a fire. This was reported by the regional emergency services department.
The blaze occurred in a residential building in the village of Maloye Teryushevo. The fire covered an area of 88 square meters. Firefighters from the Russian EMERCOM promptly arrived at the scene and extinguished the flames.
Preliminary reports indicate that the incident was caused by violations of fire safety rules when using gas equipment.
Rescuers remind: repair and maintenance of gas appliances should be entrusted solely to qualified specialists.
