      Scammers continue to operate in the Nizhny Novgorod region on behalf of the Federal Tax Service.

      According to the press service of the Federal Tax Service department in the region, fraudsters are making appointments at tax offices through the official online service, specifying the taxpayer's email address. As a result, the citizen receives an automatic notification with confirmation of the appointment.

      There is a version that this scheme is used to mislead people in order to subsequently obtain their personal data. Further attempts may be made to extract access codes, passwords, or other confidential information — for example, via phone or by clicking on malicious links.

      The Federal Tax Service emphasizes that its employees never request personal data or confirmation codes over the phone, do not ask to follow links, and do not schedule appointments on behalf of taxpayers.

      Residents of the region are strongly advised to stay vigilant, not trust suspicious calls, and to carefully scrutinize such notifications.
