Football Club "Orbi" from Georgia intends to appeal to FIFA regarding the transfer of midfielder Vakho Bedoshvili to Nizhny Novgorod "Pary NN".
Earlier, Nizhny Novgorod announced the transfer of the 21-year-old player, noting that they had acquired his rights from Tbilisi "Orbi".
However, according to the Georgian side, Bedoshvili's contract with "Orbi" was valid until the end of 2026. The club's representatives stated that after the midfielder's successful performance for the Georgian youth national team at the U21 European Championship, they received offers from European clubs. One of these offers was agreed upon for the transfer and the player's personal contract, but the signing did not take place.
"the next day, we learned that the player left for Russia without the club's knowledge. Since then, we have been unable to contact him," — according to the official statement from "Orbi".
Later, the club received notification that Bedoshvili unilaterally terminated his contract and signed an agreement with "Pary NN". "Orbi" believes that both the actions of the player and the Russian club violate FIFA regulations and infringe on the interests of the Tbilisi team. Therefore, a decision has been made to file a complaint with FIFA and initiate an investigation.
The situation was commented on by "Pary NN" sporting director Alexander Udaltsov. In an interview with TASS, he said that the player's contract included a fixed compensation fee, agreed upon in the lease agreement between "Orbi" and another club, "Garedzhi".
"We were aware of this clause and exercised our right to buy him out. Perhaps 'Orbi' hoped to earn more, but we see no legal grounds to dispute the terms of the deal," stated Udaltsov.
He emphasized that the decision to appeal to FIFA is a personal matter for "Orbi," and that Nizhny Novgorod are focused on integrating Bedoshvili into the team.
"We are pleased to have signed a contract with Vakho. He is a young and promising player whom we have been tracking for a long time. We believe in his potential and are glad to see him in the 'Pary NN' squad," added the sporting director.
It was previously announced that Jamaican midfielder Renaldo Sephas joined FC "Pary NN".
