      In Chkalovsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region, art installations dedicated to traveler and explorer Fyodor Konюkhov were ceremoniously unveiled. The event was attended by the hero himself, who has become a symbol of striving for discovery and overcoming boundaries.

      At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Crafts Natalia Gvilia awarded Fyodor Konуkhov the "Honorary Guest of Nizhny Novgorod Region" badge. The award was given for his contribution to strengthening intercultural ties and preserving national values.

      "This is a significant event for the entire Nizhny Novgorod Region. The art installations dedicated to Fyodor Filippovich reflect his spirit and inspire exploration. His name is known worldwide and fills Russians with pride," said Minister of Tourism and Crafts Sergey Yakovlev.

      The celebration began with the unveiling of a mural on the wall of the "Skazka" kindergarden. Painted by artists from the "Stenka NN" workshop, it depicts scenes from Konюkhov’s expeditions.

      Later, at the "Aviator" hotel, a monument called "Albatross" — a scaled-down replica of the monument installed at Cape Horn — was unveiled. The composition, in the form of a soaring albatross, symbolizes journeys, the strength of spirit, and dedication to the maritime path. The idea to bring this image to Russia was proposed by Fyodor Konюkhov himself.

      The traveler also participated in planting the Polar Explorers Alley. Together with children from the "Yagodka" kindergarten and activists of the "First Movement," he planted linden trees — in memory of the feats of the conquerors of the North.

      "For Chkalovsk, it is a great honor to host Fyodor Konюkhov. Thanks to him, the city now has objects that tell about an outstanding person and his journey. This helps new generations connect with real history," emphasized the head of the city district, Lyubov Vladimirova.

      It is worth noting that an interactive art object dedicated to inventor Ivan Kulibin has been installed in Nizhny Novgorod.
