      August 4, 2025, 15:57 [181] Incidents Fatal car accident that occurred at the 6 km mark of the "Krasny Mys — Gnilitskie Dvoriki" road in the Moskovsky district of Nizhny Novgorod has resulted in a criminal case. According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region, the culprit has been detained. It was established that a 50-year-old driver of a Lada Largus swerved into oncoming traffic and collided with a VAZ. When he realized what he had done, he fled the scene. He was apprehended the next day. As a result, a 33-year-old VAZ passenger died, and the driver (43 years old) and another passenger (27 years old) sustained injuries. A criminal case is under investigation regarding the accident. The suspect has been charged. He is currently in pre-trial detention. He faces up to 12 years in prison for fatal traffic accident.
