Lyskova Day in Nizhny Novgorod: a fireworks display of traditions, taste, and youth spirit

      The Public Support Headquarters of the United Russia Party for several hours transformed into a vibrant showcase of the unique Lyskovo Municipal District. "Lyskovo Day" (0+) brought together residents of Nizhny Novgorod of various ages: seniors, youth, children. All were united by an interest in local traditions, crafts, and regional development.

      During the ceremonial opening, distinguished guests addressed the participants.

      "Regions are strong thanks to their municipalities: their uniqueness lies in traditions, folk art crafts, and tourist attractions. This is part of our great country, which we see here today thanks to the 'United Russia' project. And each exhibit is not just a handcrafted item, but something imbued with soul," emphasized Vyacheslav Aksinin, Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Organizers prepared exhibitions highlighting the most distinctive features of the region. The central display was a unique map of Lyskovo, made using patchwork quilting techniques. Visitors described the tapestry as a real "anthem of folk art."

      In the Small Hall of the Headquarters, the hands of artisans worked wonders. In the "Pressed Floristry" studio, participants learned to create greeting cards with dried flowers. Weavers from the "Hand Weaving" studio revealed the secrets of textile creation on the berda loom.

      The reception area was transformed into a creative laboratory. Members of the "Knitting with a Spider Web" association demonstrated how to craft elegant decorative scarves. Seamstresses from the "Patchwork Sewing" studio taught how to make traditional motanka dolls. Participants passionately created beads from fabric and wood. The "Ribbon Painting" exhibition showcased works by masters working in this technique.

      The Main Hall became the epicenter of festive events. On stage, lively songs were performed, and scenes were enacted by the People's Exemplary Amateur Collective "Russian Song." Models from the fashion and style theater "Diva Model" dazzled in clothes from handmade collections during a vibrant fashion show.

      At "Lyskovo Day," visitors could learn about the city's history. Throughout the event, a documentary about the Lyskovo Municipal District was displayed on screens.

      Tastings were especially popular: guests enjoyed the flavors of natural cheeses, jams, and refreshing lemonade.

      "We presented works by Lyskovo artisans, potters, and seamstresses. I also want to highlight products from one of the young and most promising producers of ecological goods — the 'Eco-farm' company. They produce natural dairy products according to European standards. At this celebration, residents of Nizhny Novgorod were able to learn about local craftsmanship, what’s happening in the district, and its historical development. Our region can boast its scenic views, unique natural objects, and ancient history. We invite everyone to the hospitable land of Lyskovo!" said Alexander Kochmarov, head of the Lyskovo Municipal District.

      Dmitry Filippenko, head of the regional executive committee of the "United Russia" party, emphasized the importance of the project for the entire region:

      "Today, the Lyskovo Municipal District presents its products and shares experiences. The celebration is organized within the 'Municipality Day' project. Its main goal is to immerse residents of Nizhny Novgorod in the life of a particular district. Living in the same region, we don't always know what’s happening with our neighbors. When shopping and choosing products, we may not even realize that we have splendid Baikal products produced right within Nizhny Novgorod. This project is designed precisely to help us learn what’s happening in the region, what can be learned from various municipalities," stated Dmitry Filippenko.

      The highlight of the day was the awards ceremony for activists of the local branch of the "Young Guard of United Russia" of the Lyskovo District. Regional leader of the "Young Guard" Roman Zykov, Alexander Kochmarov, and Dmitry Filippenko presented awards for active participation and significant personal contributions to the development of the "Young Guard of United Russia" movement in the Lyskovo Municipal District of Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      "Today, we saw not only the richness of Lyskovo’s traditions but also the energy of its future — our youth. The activists of the 'Young Guard' in Lyskovo are true enthusiasts who, through their projects and work on the ground, make an invaluable contribution to the development of their homeland and the entire region. Their energy, initiative, and dedication deserve the highest praise. We are proud of our young guards and confident that the future of Nizhny Novgorod belongs to such young people!" commented Roman Zykov.

      "Lyskovo Day in Nizhny Novgorod turned into a lively celebration where everyone could find something to their liking: from immersing in traditional crafts to meeting modern eco-producers, from folk songs to fashion shows. The strength of Russia lies in its regions — in their uniqueness, talents, and people who put their soul into their work."
