High fire hazard persists!
According to the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Upper Volga UGMSS," from August 5 to 8, 2025, there will be areas in Nizhny Novgorod Region with high (Class 4) forest and peat bog fire hazard.
The likelihood of emergencies related to wild (natural) fires increases. There may be an increase in the number of fire outbreaks and areas of natural fires, with the spread of fire to populated areas and economic facilities.
Recommendations to residents:
The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for Nizhny Novgorod Region strongly urges to be extremely vigilant during the fire hazard period and to follow all necessary fire safety rules.
When information about high or extreme fire danger is received, refrain from visiting forests.
Do not burn garbage on your garden and dacha plots. Do not burn debris near forests and plantations. Do not light campfires in forests. Do not smoke, do not throw burning matches or cigarette butts, and do not shake hot ash from smoking pipes.
Do not leave oily or gasoline- and kerosene-soaked rags or wiping materials containing flammable substances in the forest. Do not leave bottles, glass shards, or other trash on sunlit forest clearings.
If a natural fire is detected, be attentive and cautious, and immediately call the fire department.
We recommend using the mobile application "EMERCOM of Russia" to receive timely emergency information about forecasted hazardous and adverse weather phenomena and emergencies via the Internet.
