At the shipbuilding complex of the "R-Flot" group of companies in the Bogorodsky District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the launching of two RBT2006 project fire-fighting vessels took place. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The vessels were named "Artem Averyanov" and "Yury Makartsev" in honor of employees of Transneft-Privolga, who were killed during a special military operation. This company acted as the customer for the vessels.
On the same day, the laying of two new multi-functional dredgers took place. Construction of these vessels is being carried out on order from Vodolec. These vessels will be used in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Participants in the event included the Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Maxim Cherkasov; the General Director of R-Flot, Alexei Klepikov; Acting Director of the Upper-Volga Branch of the Russian Classification Society, Alexei Soloviev; General Director of LLC Vodolec, Nikita Italianets; Executive Director of R-Flot Machine Building, Vladimir Gusev; and the head of the Bogorodsky District, Alexei Korotkov.
Maxim Cherkasov noted that shipbuilding enterprises in the region are secured with orders until 2028. He emphasized that various types of vessels are being built in the area—from passenger and cruise ships to specialized vessels such as crab catchers and electric boats.
According to him, active work on production localization is of particular importance. The R-Flot group performs the entire cycle of shipbuilding work independently—from design to launching. The dredgers laid down that day are fully Russian-made, with about 60% of their equipment produced at group enterprises. The localization level of the fire-fighting vessels reaches 90%.
Fire-fighting vessels are designed for rapid response to oil and petroleum product spills and can also be used in rescue operations on water bodies. The dredgers, in turn, are intended for dredging operations, clearing water areas, and shoreline reinforcement.
R-Flot CEO Alexei Klepikov noted that for the first time, two fire-fighting vessels were simultaneously launched by the enterprise. The project was developed in 2023, and in less than a year and a half, it was completed thanks to a high degree of manufacturing independence.
Klepikov stated that the vessels will undergo mooring, sea, and technological trials, and will be delivered to the customer already in September. He also reminded that the dredgers are being built within the framework of the state program "Development of the Transport System." The new vessels will be the second and third in the series; the lead dredger was launched in 2023 and is now operating in the Samara Region.
In the shipbuilding industry of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, 18 large and medium-sized enterprises are involved, employing over 9,000 specialists. These companies design and produce a wide range of vessels and equipment—from cruise ships and tankers to port machinery, floating docks, passenger vessels, and hydrographic boats.
