Evgeny Lyulin: "The Nizhny Novgorod region generates the power of industrial production."

      The Chairman of the Legislative Assembly commented on the governor’s report on the socio-economic development of the region in 2024

      "Speaking before the deputies of the Legislative Assembly with a report on the government’s work, Governor Gleb Nikitin emphasized that the main goal of the authorities is to improve the quality of life of people. To achieve this, economic development is stimulated, social commitments are expanded, infrastructure is modernized," stated the speaker of the regional parliament, Evgeny Lyulin. He added that despite objective difficulties, the government managed in 2024 to maintain the growth rates of the regional economy. New promising projects were launched, reaffirming the region’s leadership.

      According to Evgeny Lyulin, the foundation of the region’s economic well-being — industry — continues to grow at nearly twice the national average.

      "Last year, GRP increased by 3.3 percent, and in the first five months of 2025 — by another 2.4 percent, while the average across Russia was only 1.3 percent. And this is despite high key interest rates and market instability. We support industrialists. Think about it: over the year, funding from the regional Industrial Development Fund doubled! That's why investors are coming to us. Recently, the only silica gel manufacturing plant in Russia was opened in Kulibin. Last year, 6.6 billion rubles were allocated to agriculture — 16 livestock complexes were built. This is an investment in the future!" said the speaker of the Legislative Assembly.

      Evgeny Lyulin noted that economic successes contribute to the implementation of infrastructure projects: "The modernization of the electric transport system in Nizhny Novgorod continues. The ice sports palace is almost ready. Under national projects, over five years, 33 schools, 45 kindergartens were built, hundreds of hospitals were renovated, and 6 thousand kilometers of roads were repaired. According to new national projects in which the region is involved, in 2025, we will receive 54 billion rubles in federal funding."

      Special attention in the Nizhny Novgorod region is paid to the development of the social sphere.

      "Since July 1, the initiative 'Parental Basic Income,' launched by the governor, has been in effect, allowing payments for childbirth in the Nizhny Novgorod region combined with federal maternity capital to reach up to 1 million rubles. This has never happened before!" said the regional parliament speaker.

      He also reminded that for participants in the Special Military Operation (SMO) and their family members, there are special support measures in the region, and the project "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" has started to train veterans as qualified managers.

      It is evident to all that the Nizhny Novgorod Region today is a key center where industrial strength is generated, digital future is being created, and unique projects are launched — in the interests of the people and for the benefit of the country," emphasized Evgeny Lyulin.
