In Balakhna district, road repair works planned under the national project "Infrastructure for Life" have been completed.

      All road sections planned for repair this year under the national project "Infrastructure for Life" in the Balakhinsky municipal district have been completed, according to the Main Directorate of Motor Roads of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Specifically, repairs were carried out on two sections: 3.6 km of the Zamyatino–Churkino–Babwe–Shurlovo road (contract value: 70 million rubles), and a 6.7 km regional road in the Bolshoye Kozino settlement, passing through Leninskaya, Bolshaya Shkolnaya, and Kalinina streets. A two-year contract was signed for the repair of the second site. Weather conditions and the contractor’s reserves allowed for asphalt replacement last year, and this year, the contractor strengthened shoulders and applied markings. The total cost of works was 119 million rubles.

      "This road connects Bolshoye Kozino, where about 6,000 residents live, with Nizhny Novgorod. The high traffic volume meant we couldn’t overlook this road, so a comprehensive repair was decided upon. The contractor approached the tasks responsibly and completed the repair ahead of the two-year contract timeline," said Leonid Samukhin, Director of the State Public Institution "GUAD" of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Overall, across the Nizhny Novgorod Region this year, repairs are planned for 104 roads totaling over 645 km. Work has already been completed and approved by the commission on 37 sites (177 km).

      Let us remind you that road repairs in the Nizhny Novgorod Region are conducted within the framework of the national project "Infrastructure for Life," initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin to provide citizens with modern infrastructure. The project consists of 11 federal initiatives, partly continuing previously active national projects "Safe and High-Quality Roads," "Housing and Urban Environment," and other government programs of the Russian Federation. They aim to develop road construction, housing and utility services, traffic safety, and the expansion of public passenger transportation.
