Dzerzhinsk residents may become honorary donors of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      This initiative was proposed by Evgeny Lyulin, chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the region. It is planned that no more than 40 people—who hold Russian citizenship, reside in the region, and have donated blood, its components, or plasma free of charge at government institutions under the jurisdiction of the regional health department—will be annually awarded the "Honored Donor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" badge.

      The number of donations ranges from 80 to 120 or more, depending on what is donated: blood, its components, or plasma. The final decision to establish the badge is scheduled to be made at the upcoming session of the regional Legislative Assembly on Thursday, July 31.
