      In the Gorodetsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, police are investigating the circumstances of a road traffic incident that occurred on the morning of July 25 at a cemetery in the village of Kudashikha. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region.

      Around 08:10, the duty personnel of the MO MVD Russia "Gorodetsky" received a report from the cemetery director about damage to several graves and tombstones. Traffic police officers were dispatched to the scene.

      Upon arrival, police found a Datsun car on the cemetery grounds with no driver present. Later, a woman who appeared to be intoxicated returned to the vehicle.

      Police officers drew up an administrative protocol against the 34-year-old violation for refusing to undergo medical testing for intoxication under Part 1 of Article 12.26 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. The female driver was removed from vehicle operation, and her car was towed to a designated parking lot.

      An investigative and operational team continues to work at the scene. Law enforcement officials are documenting the damage caused and establishing all circumstances of the incident.

      Earlier reports indicated that nearly 6,000 drunk drivers have been caught in the Nizhny Novgorod region since the beginning of the year.
