      Traffic police officers in the Nizhny Novgorod region summarized the results of the large-scale preventive event "Night," aimed at reducing accidents and increasing discipline among drivers.

      The operation covered the streets of Nizhny Novgorod and was conducted during nighttime.

      During the operation, 155 administrative protocols were drafted.

      Nine drivers were detained for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Additionally, eight individuals were brought to territorial police departments. One of them was charged with criminal responsibility for repeat drunk driving.

      As noted by the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, such activities play an important role in accident prevention and serve as a reminder of the need for strict adherence to traffic rules.

      The positive results of the raid have led to the decision to regularly conduct similar operations in the future.

      It was previously reported that since the beginning of 2025, 6,415 cases of driving under the influence of alcohol have been identified in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
