      Incidents

      A resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region was found guilty of organizing illegal circulation of weapons or dangerous substances. This was reported by the press service of the FSB of Russia for the region.

      According to the agency, in 2024, during operational-search activities, the man was caught red-handed attempting to purchase four fuses for hand grenades for money.

      The Investigative Department of the regional FSB opened and investigated criminal cases under Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 1 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provide for liability for conspiracy to commit a crime and illegal circulation of explosive substances.

      The Diveyevsky Interdistrict Court sentenced the defendant to four years of imprisonment to be served in a general regime penal colony.

      The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.

      It was previously reported that FSB officers in Russia thwarted the activities of an agent of the Security Service of Ukraine operating in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
