Arzamas Fire Station No. 44 celebrates its 45th anniversary in July. It was established in 1980.
Today, 40 people work here. The operational staff includes 29 personnel, those who directly participate in firefighting, emergency response, and rescue operations during road accidents. Seven fire prevention inspectors at the production sites and four dispatchers. The 24/7 duty is carried out by a team of seven.
Since 2002, the station has been headed by Haris Shaipkin, who was once a firefighter himself and now successfully leads the team.
"I can say that the staff of the station are true professionals. Responsive, responsible, and always reliable," commented Haris Khusainovich. "They will come to help in difficult life situations. We all work as a team when fighting for a person's life. Otherwise, our profession would be impossible."
"I've been working as a dispatcher for 23 years," said Svetlana Nikolaeva. "Every day, more than a hundred calls come in. Sometimes I have to be both a psychologist and a logistics coordinator. When people report a fire and become anxious, my task is to calm them, determine the correct address, and send the team. And when you realize that the unit has completed its mission and arrived on time, you feel genuine satisfaction from your work."
After military service, Evgeny Parkhaev joined the station; today he is a squad commander.
"I've been working for six years," he shared. "I love my profession; I’ve dreamed of it since childhood. There are three people in my unit, and we get along very well. The driver quickly and safely transports us to the scene, I make decisions, and the firefighter listens and executes commands. I can rely on each of them."
The main object protected by Fire Station No. 44 since its founding is the Arzamas Instrument-Building Plant. Over 45 years, fruitful cooperation has been established with its management and units. Together, issues related to providing firefighters with equipment and gear are addressed, the rolling stock is updated, and premises are improved.
In December of last year, with the support of the plant’s management, a large modern fire safety museum of Arzamas was opened at Fire Station No. 44—a branch of the Museum of the History of Arzamas Mechanical Plant. Today, station personnel organize excursions for schoolchildren.
Three months ago, the Arzamas Fire Safety Bureau was established at the plant, headed by veteran firefighter Alexander Polyakov, who interacts daily with personnel of Fire Station No. 44. The fire prevention department actively conducts outreach, organizes raids, and works on preventing fire hazardous situations.
