Production by the Nizhny Novgorod auto parts manufacturer increased by 19% due to participation in the federal project "Labor Productivity."

      Experts from the Regional Competence Center (RCC) jointly with employees of JSC "MS Automotiv" from Nizhny Novgorod summarized the results of implementing the tools of the federal project "Labor Productivity" within the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy" at the enterprise.

      The company specializes in the development of plastic parts, plastic casting, painting of parts, and manufacturing of tooling.

      As a pilot stream at the enterprise, the optimization of bumper group product manufacturing was chosen. The sales share of this product accounts for 24% of the company's total revenue.

      According to Maxim Cherkasov, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, over six months, RCC experts analyzed and systematized the work of the pilot site and identified 16 "bottlenecks" in the flow. Among them are excess production volumes over demand, inefficient organization of workspace, and unnecessary movement of materials and products.

      "Solutions were implemented in each direction. For example, RCC staff, together with the company's team, reduced the polishing time of parts from 386 to 304 minutes and standardized operator work. These innovations allowed the time to manufacture the product to be reduced from 48 to 39 hours, increasing speed by 18 percent. These changes resulted in a 19 percent increase in output," the minister said.

      Additionally, RCC specialists trained 33 employees in lean technologies and prepared two internal trainers who will subsequently be able to train their colleagues independently.

      Currently, 29 auto component manufacturers in the Nizhny Novgorod region are successfully implementing tools of the federal project "Labor Productivity."

      Today, 290 companies in Nizhny Novgorod are working on implementing lean technologies with government support.

      According to the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the "Effective and Competitive Economy" national project will become the main tool for shaping a new growth model. It includes federal projects aimed at developing small and medium-sized enterprises, increasing labor productivity, boosting investment activity, low-carbon development, and advancing the state statistics and forecasting system.
