United Metallurgical Company (OMK) has completed the construction of the children's educational center "Kvantorium" in Vyksa. The facility will become part of the industrial-tourist complex "Shukhov Park," which the company is developing in the historic part of the city.

For the project implementation, OMK invested over 720 million rubles, with an additional 120 million rubles contributed by the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The opening of the technopark is scheduled for the beginning of the new school year.

"Kvantorium" will be able to host up to 800 students aged 7 to 18 from Vyksa and neighboring districts free of charge. The educational program covers robotics, nanotechnology, biotechnology, energy, mechanical engineering, and basic metallurgy. Applications for participation in the programs will begin in September 2025.

The technopark building is designed in a modern architectural style: two differently high blocks symbolize the fusion of theory and practice. The façade is finished with red clinker bricks, black metal, and stained glass—an homage to the industrial history of the site, where in the 18th century the factories of the Batashev brothers were located.

On the first floor, there will be workshops and science-educational zones, while the second will host educational laboratories. There is also space for socializing and a café in the lobby, where parents can comfortably wait for their children.

Currently, landscaping of the territory is nearing completion: builders are finishing the entrance square, laying sidewalks, creating lawns, and installing lighting.

OMK HR Director Natalia Yamshchikova noted that "Kvantorium" would help children discover an interest in precise sciences, and perhaps future young engineers and scientists will join the ranks of metallurgists. She added that the company systematically builds professional orientation work with youth.

"In cities where OMK enterprises are located, we create opportunities for vocational education, help our employees develop skills and competencies, and train in-demand professions in the country. It matters to us who will work at OMK enterprises in five, ten, fifteen, or even twenty years," she said.

Information about the admission procedure and application deadlines will be posted on the new city portal vyksa.digital.
