The regional traffic police noted that compared to the same period last year, the numbers have slightly decreased. In the first half of 2024, there were 156 accidents involving PMDs, resulting in 165 injuries, including 32 children.
The most common violation among scooter users in 2025 was improper positioning on the roadway — 53 such cases were recorded. Additionally, in 29 episodes, scooter users failed to give way to pedestrians; in 16 cases, they did not ensure safety before starting to move; and in 13 cases, they violated the rules of priority.
In total, 312 administrative protocols were drafted against PMD drivers over the six months. Three minors were also held accountable.
It was previously reported that the city of Nizhny Novgorod does not plan to ban the movement of electric scooters and the operation of kick-sharing services at this time.
