Society The State Duma approved a bill providing for liability for actions related to searching for extremist information and advertising VPN services, according to Channel "360".
The main provisions of the new law include:
Searching for extremist materials, including the use of VPN services:
- Citizens can be fined from 3,000 to 5,000 rubles.
Advertising VPN services and similar circumvention tools:
- Fines for citizens range from 50,000 to 80,000 rubles.
- Officials can be fined from 80,000 to 150,000 rubles.
- Legal entities must pay fines ranging from 200,000 to 500,000 rubles.
Distributing advertising for access to blocked sites:
- Penalties include fines of up to 500,000 rubles.
Illegal transmission of subscriber numbers:
- Individuals can be fined from 30,000 to 50,000 rubles.
- Individual entrepreneurs risk fines from 50,000 to 100,000 rubles.
- Companies can be fined from 100,000 to 200,000 rubles.
Passing on login credentials and passwords for site access:
- For individuals, fines range from 30,000 to 50,000 rubles.
- Individual entrepreneurs may be fined from 50,000 to 100,000 rubles.
- Legal entities can be fined from 100,000 to 200,000 rubles.
Refusal to cooperate with law enforcement and failure to provide data:
- Legal entities can be fined up to 10 million rubles.
