Society "The 'Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region' Program is a unique opportunity not only to gain new knowledge but also to apply existing experience for the benefit of your region and the whole country," believes War Veterans Special Operation veteran and program participant Valery Loginov.

According to him, fighters of the special military operation are capable of making decisions in the most unpredictable situations and, most importantly, taking responsibility for them. This means they can become highly qualified and competent leaders as a result of their training.

In the SVO zone, Valery was involved in medical support and medical escort of a volunteer battalion. Within the framework of the program, he aims to develop managerial competencies and project management skills, gain a deeper understanding of the nuances of verbal and non-verbal communication, as well as methods of conflict prevention and resolution. After completing his training, he plans to participate in solving issues related to social and medico-social spheres.

"Due to my work, I have traveled almost all over our country—from Kamchatka to Kaliningrad, from Vorkuta to the North Caucasus—and I am well aware of the conditions created for residents in most regions. I am also interested in the development of tourism in small settlements, including eco-tourism. I have many plans and areas of activity where I would like to contribute. But, in any case, the decision on which specific field of service I will be most helpful in will be made by our mentors after the training," said Valery Loginov.

The veteran of the SVO decided to participate in the 'Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region' program with the support of his close ones.

"Our family has this tradition: supporting each other, regardless of circumstances. My wife and children supported me and told me—go ahead," he shared.

It is worth reminding that the 'Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region' program aims to integrate and employ participants and veterans of the special military operation into the system of state administration. In March 2025, an agreement was signed between the Government of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, RANEPA, and KUPNO on cooperation for the implementation of this program.

Registration for participation in the 'Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region' program closed on March 31. During the selection campaign, 1,613 applications were received from residents of Nizhny Novgorod.

Based on the total scores from questionnaires, testing, online interviews, and assessments, as well as face-to-face interviews with Deputy Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Andrey Gneushev, 60 participants were selected for the main educational program and 30 for inclusion in the next intake after returning to the region.
