The authorities of Nizhny Novgorod are considering installing bollards on Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street to restrict unauthorized vehicle access. Mayor Yuriy Shalabaev reported this in his Telegram channel.
According to him, the idea was discussed during a meeting with Deputy of the Legislative Assembly and former city head Yuriy Lebedev. The parties also considered the development of urban spaces and possible measures to make public areas more comfortable for residents.
As an example, Kozhevennaya Street was discussed, where barriers for vehicle entry and parking are already being installed. A similar solution could be implemented on Bolshaya Pokrovskaya to restrict car access to the pedestrian street and thus enhance pedestrian safety.
It is worth noting that since April 2, a ban on vehicle movement and parking has been in effect in several areas of Nizhny Novgorod.
