In Nizhny Novgorod, a police officer identified a case of fictitious registration of foreign citizens for migration accounting. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region.
As established by officers from Police Department No. 4, a 49-year-old previously non-criminal local resident registered three foreigners from nearby countries for one year in exchange for monetary compensation. She was aware that they would not actually reside in her apartment on Chayadeeva Street.
Criminal cases have been initiated for each of the three incidents under Article 322.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — fictitious registration of foreign citizens at the place of residence.
The suspect has been taken into custody with a restraint measure in the form of a travel restriction and proper behavior. An investigation is currently underway.
Earlier, it was reported that nearly 7,000 migration violations were identified in the Nizhny Novgorod region in the first half of 2025. NIА "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel. Subscribe to stay informed about major events, exclusive materials, and operational updates.
