      Incidents Since the beginning of 2025, 78 cases of vehicle theft have been recorded in Nizhny Novgorod. This is reported by pravda-nn.ru, citing the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      All incidents are classified under the article concerning unlawful possession of a vehicle or other transport without the intention of theft.

      Out of the total registered crimes, 59 have been solved — more than 75% of the total number of offenses. Moreover, the suspects' identities have been established.

      The number of car thefts in the first half of 2025 decreased by nearly 15% compared to the same period in 2024, when 92 such cases were registered.

      In total, 184 cases of vehicle theft were recorded in the Nizhny Novgorod Region in 2024. Of these, 149 crimes were solved.

      It was previously reported that about 6,000 intoxicated drivers have been identified in the Nizhny Novgorod Region since the beginning of the year.
