
The Mayor's Beach Volleyball Cup will be held for the first time in Nizhny Novgorod.
Guests will have the opportunity to personally interact with beach volleyball stars.
On August 2–3, on the territory of the Grebnoy Kanal Embankment, the First Mayor's Cup of Nizhny Novgorod in beach volleyball among amateurs will take place. Professional athletes will also compete for the Cup, and additionally, master classes, open training sessions, and an autograph session will be held, giving guests the chance to personally communicate with beach volleyball stars.
"Sport is becoming an integral part of life for an increasing number of residents of Nizhny Novgorod: nearly 60% of the city's residents include training in their daily routine. Our task is to make it possible for everyone to engage in their favorite sport and discover new ones. In early August, the Mayor's Cup of Nizhny Novgorod in beach volleyball will be held for the first time, bringing together amateurs, stars of this sport, and fans of all ages on one platform. It is from among amateurs that professionals grow, and our main goal is to create conditions and support them. Come with your family and friends—participate, cheer, relax, and get inspired for new achievements," — invited Mayor Yuri Shalabaev to join the Cup.
Advocates of a sporty lifestyle can also enjoy yoga classes, paddleboarding, children's entertainment, and much more during the Mayor's Cup. The main event of the tournament will be the presentation of the updated rosters for the 25/26 season of the volleyball clubs ASK and Sparta.
"Volleyball is a sport accessible to almost everyone. Our goal is to demonstrate this in practice. The beach volleyball tournament on the Grena Channel is the perfect format where professional sport, amateur teams, and engaged fans who can register for the competition all come together. We are grateful to the Nizhny Novgorod administration and Mayor Yuri Vladimirovich Shalabaev for their support in organizing the tournament, and we are confident it will be fun and sporting," — noted Maksim Gafurov, General Director of the NGO "Center for Sports Management and Development of Nizhny Novgorod Region," adding that the tournament is organized by the center and ASK Volleyball Club with the support of the city administration.
Teams: men's and women's pairs born after 2009 are invited to participate in the First Mayor's Cup of Nizhny Novgorod in beach volleyball. The competition format includes a group stage followed by playoffs.
