Residents and organizations of the Nizhny Novgorod region have accumulated significant debt for housing and communal services — over 2.4 billion rubles. This was reported by "Zhivem v Nizhny" at the Main Directorate of the Federal Bailiff Service for the region.
According to the department, this amount includes debts owed by both individuals and legal entities. Currently, there are 70,942 enforcement cases related to unpaid utility bills in the bailiffs' proceedings.
The service also provided examples of the largest debts for utilities among individuals. Specifically, cases have been initiated in the region against citizens owing 308,961 rubles, 450,592 rubles, 464,314 rubles, 306,900 rubles, and 313,278 rubles.
It was previously reported that the State Duma proposed forgiving utility debts for large families.
