The Ministry of Construction has permitted the reconstruction of the Strigino ski base in Nizhny Novgorod.

      Sports In the Autozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod, a modern sports complex with a ski base is planned to be built. In June, the regional Ministry of Construction issued a permit for construction works, according to the official website of the department.

      The complex will be located in the picturesque Stroginsky Forest, which has the status of a natural monument. Currently, a ski base "Strogino" operates in this area and is undergoing extensive reconstruction.

      The project involves creating a versatile sports facility that will operate year-round. The complex plans to offer ski equipment rentals, as well as modern facilities for fitness, gaming zones, and gyms. For visitors’ convenience, a café will be provided. Additionally, landscaping the surrounding area will be an important part of the project. However, the four existing ski trails passing through the protected area will remain unchanged.

      Last year, the project of the sports complex and ski base by PJSC "GAZ" successfully passed state expertise.

      Construction is planned to begin at house No. 25 on Hero Starikov Street. The developer is PJSC "GAZ," and the technical customer is the Nizhny Novgorod LLC "Technopark."

      In February 2024, Nikolai Gorshkov, head of the "Torpedo" sports club, which manages the factory's sports facilities, noted that the construction of the ski base will be part of the "New Social Vector" program. The complex will be accessible to a wide range of sports enthusiasts and active recreation lovers.
