      Incidents

      A pre-investigation check has begun in the Nizhny Novgorod region after media reports of dog attacks on local residents. This was informed by the press service of the agency.

      Employees of the regional investigative department detected media reports about cases of dog attacks, which owners release for free roaming, on residents of one of the residential complexes in the region. This caused concern, and an investigator from the investigative department in Kstovo city of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region initiated a procedural check on this case.

      Currently, investigators are clarifying all details of the incident. As part of the check, a legal assessment will be given regarding the actions or inactions of officials from local government bodies responsible for organizing control over compliance with pet keeping regulations.
