Residents of Nizhny Novgorod are outraged by non-working air conditioners on buses.

      In Nizhny Novgorod, residents are mass complaining about malfunctioning air conditioners in public transport. Street thermometers have been showing temperatures above 30 degrees for several days, and in the stuffy bus cabins, it reaches +40, and in some cases even +60 degrees!

      Citizens express their discontent in the online community "New Route Network of the Nizhny Novgorod Agglomeration" on the social network "VKontakte". According to their reports, air conditioners are not working on routes № 2, 3, 17, 20, 40, 66, 77, 90.

      "Do any buses have working air conditioners? Not in the 3s, not in the 17, 2, or the ones I ride, none. Outside 30+, inside 40," said Yutani V.

      "I burned my hand in the bus, I think the temperature at the back of the bus is close to 60°... Why are buses with heaters installed in the cabin purchased, and why is there no money to turn on the air conditioning?" exclaims Ksenia S.

      In the comments, Nizhny Novgorod residents note that the problem pertains to specific vehicles because on the same route 2, 20, and 17, they traveled in comfortable temperature conditions.

      It should be noted that some buses on city routes are not equipped with air conditioners at all — this was not provided for by the manufacturer.

      "Recently there was a scandal on route 20. People demanded air conditioning in a 2017 bus. From that initial batch, which doesn’t have air conditioners as such," said Sergey S.

      CRTS employees report that an investigation has begun regarding complaints about faulty air conditioners. They recommend reporting incidents of temperature regulation violations in the vehicle cabins either directly to the carrier or to the call center at 422-28-25 (from 6:00 to 22:00 daily), providing the route number, direction, vehicle registration number, date, and time of the violation.

      As previously reported, the anomalous heatwave will persist in Nizhny Novgorod this weekend. According to the Hydro-Meteorological Center, on Saturday, July 12, the daytime air temperature will reach +32 degrees, and on Sunday, July 13, +30. According to preliminary forecasts by meteorologists, the hot weather will continue into next week.
