Former director of the House of Creativity in Sarov will be sentenced for embezzling 800,000 rubles

      An investigation into a criminal case against a former head of an additional education institution has been completed in the Nizhny Novgorod region. She is accused of abuse of official authority, misappropriation, and embezzlement of funds.

      According to the investigative department of the Sarov town ZATO, of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region, the former director of the "House of Creativity" in the Diveevsky district will face trial. She is charged with two episodes under Part 3 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and one episode under item "e" of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code.

      The investigation established that from 2021 to 2024, the accused issued fictitious orders for one-time work performed by staff, as well as officially registered persons as secretary-typists who in fact did not perform any labor functions.

      Additionally, under the instruction of the director, false information was systematically reflected in the time sheets of working hours. These documents were passed to the accounting department, and wages were calculated based on them. Part of the wages was taken by the accused herself and used at her discretion.

      During the same period, the director, abusing her position, demanded that subordinates transfer part of their incentive payments to her, which she subsequently spent on personal needs.

      The total damage caused by her actions exceeded 746,000 rubles.

      The illegal activities were detected and stopped through joint efforts of the Investigative Committee, the Prosecutor's Office, and the FSB of Russia in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      The criminal case with an approved indictment has been handed over to the court for trial on the merits.

      It was previously reported that three former employees of a Research Institute and two businessmen were convicted in a long-standing bribery scheme. The total amount of illegal payments exceeded 2 million rubles.
